Community Development Volunteers
Community Development Volunteers are women of the community whom we have provided information on women’s Reproductive and Children’s health. These are the women who had philanthropic attitude and hence used to help women of their own community whenever need arose. We identified and provided them information on various Health issues which they impart in their neighborhood. The training emphasized that Health is their Right and we need to look at health and health services in that perspective. This has bolstered their self esteem, has increased their effectiveness and earned them more respect. We have 250 Community Development Volunteers
Sangharsh and Ekta Sangthan
The women know that if they want to improve their health, apart from quality health services enough water, better sanitation and education are required. These were their rights denied to them by Civic Authorities with impunity. So an organization named “ Sangharsh and Ekta Sangathan” was formed on 8th March 2008 so that they can struggle in a more organized way. 6 committees are formed with women representative from various slums pockets
- Health
- Education
- Water & Sanitation
- Ration Cards
- Government Schemes
- Road and Street Lights
There are 89 women members of these committees.
We are providing them information about the structure of the Local Government, Citizen’s Charter of Local Government and also how to address problems regarding Schools, Ration Cards etc. |
